Lecterns at the University of Tasmania
The University of Tasmania’s (UTAS) Rozelle campus in inner western Sydney is home to its School of Medicine and School of Health Sciences. It offers a Bachelor of Paramedic Practice supported by the Ambulance Service of NSW, and a fast-track, two year Bachelor of Nursing course.
The Brief
UTAS aim was to refresh the AV facilities to stay at the cutting edge of contemporary teaching while attracting new students to their world-class programmes.
The Solution
Podion supplied the Multimedia lecterns (MML-2-B) for UTAS, which were integral to the overall AV solution in several rooms. The lecterns were fitted with advanced AV equipment, including Dell preview monitors, document cameras, gooseneck microphones, and space to conceal additional technology like video switching and distribution systems. In the Lecture Theatre, the lectern houses most of the AV equipment, allowing for a streamlined and efficient setup. Additional features included radio microphones, integrated seamlessly with the lectern’s design.
The same core AV systems were implemented in Nursing Lab 1, where the multimedia lectern contained essential control technology. In Building 105, the multimedia lectern housed vital teaching infrastructure and wireless microphones, ensuring the smooth operation of the AV systems. Each setup focused on enhancing the user experience through the integration of cutting-edge technology, all supported by Podion’s versatile electric height adjustable lecterns.
This streamlined the AV experience by keeping critical components hidden and accessible through the lectern, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
